The Alleged Obesity Epidemic

The U.S. C.D.C. and F.D.A. are LYING TO YOU!


It seems that the LATEST Federal 'Gummint' power grab (taking away YOUR freedom to eat whatever you want, in whatever portions you want) is the alleged OBESITY EPIDEMIC! To think of the BURDEN that all of those FAT PEOPLE are going to have on Medicaire costs, now that the 'Baby Boomers' are reaching the age at which they'll EXPECT TO GET BACK THE MONEY THEY PUT INTO THE SYSTEM in the form of 'next to free' health care and retirement income in the latter years of their lives.

HOW DARE THEY! According to GUMMINT, anyway.

And in an OBVIOUS power grab, all in the apparent name of 'cutting costs' mind you, the 'Gummint' NOW wants to CONTROL what you eat! Just think, all you 'overweight' people out there, your GUMMINT wants to make you HEALTHY! And they're ONLY interested in what is BEST for YOU. Like they know, yeah? Keep in mind, 'overweight' is defined by them as anyone who falls outside of the idiotic BMI curve, which is suitable only for skinny wimps with small bones. Consider that a large number of professional athletes, body builders, and people who have above-normal strength or shorter legs than average will NEARLY ALWAYS score 'overweight' or 'obese' on the BMI. And since there are LIES, DAMN LIES, and STATISTICS, you can bet that the "statistics;" used to "prove" the existence of this "Obesity Epidemic" have been stretched more than our personal budgets have had to be stretched whenever 'Gummint' takes MORE of our money away in TAXES!

Except, THIS time, they're after our FREEDOM!

So for those of us who have barrel chests, or short legs, or actual MUSCLE on our bodies, we can be sure to be counted as 'obese' by lying statistics. Football linebackers, construction workers, heavy laborers, bar bouncers, sumo wrestlers, and men who do the 'Iron Man' competition. Just paint a TARGET on your backs, 'cause mommy/daddy/nanny gummint is going to CURE you! And don't forget men who are built like George Foreman, regardless of how physically fit you might be. You are all OBESE according to the BMI, and it's an EPIDEMIC that the GUMMINT must CURE! All at taxpayer expense, and with behavior "incentives".

Even for things that ARE illegal, people do NOT stop using them when the law says 'no'. Prohibition was once a Constitutional ammendment. It was REPEALED because it was UNENFORCABLE! It also encouraged organized crime. A lot of low quality alcohol was served during prohibition, and sometimes people were poisoned because methanol and turpentine were used to 'cut' it (or add 'kick'). Can you imagine 'black market' butter, hamburgers, cream, and steak? Because you _know_ that 'big nanny' gummint isn't going after the CARBOHYDRATES. Oh, no, it's the FAT they're after! Even though a significant number of people LOSE WEIGHT and GAIN MUSCLE on high protein/high fat diets, you can BET YOUR SWEET BIPPIE that BIG NANNY will go after THE FAT, and force EVERYONE on "LOW FAT" diets, because it will GUARANTEE a permanently perpetuated "problem".

But wait... there's MORE!

The WEAK are easily controlled!

I don't know about you, but I happen to LIKE having about 50lbs of "overwight" MUSCLE on my body. I like being strong. I hate being weak. And if my weight were consistent with the BMI, even for so-called 'large frame' bone structure, my RIBS WOULD STICK OUT! This is a fact, not an opinion. So to prevent looking like a victim of the HOLOCAUST, I weigh about 50lbs MORE than the BMI says I should. And when I go into a swimming pool, I SINK. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about body density would recognize THIS as a sign of relatively low body fat. That's hardly OBESE, right? And I'm sure there are a LOT of people out there, just like me. In fact, my size/weight/shape is similar to that of George Foreman. I dare anyone to call HIM fat! And now you know why I find the Gummint "Obesity Epidemic" so RIDICULOUS and OFFENSIVE!

So what would happen if all of the STRONG people are FORCED to lose weight? They'd lose MUSCLE MASS, of course. This would make them a lot EASIER to CONTROL, don't you think? And yet, all of the health problems ALLEGED to be caused by HIGH FAT DIETS are RIDICULOUS PSEUDO SCIENCE! Global Warming is bad enough, but FORCE-FEEDING US 'DIET FOOD' is a DIRECT ASSAULT on our freedom.

The TRUTH about FAT in our diet

Humans are OMNIVOROUS PREDATORS. In the wild, when a predator kills an animal, guess what it eats FIRST? A lioness will GORGE on the fattest parts of the meat, in order to get back the calories burned up in chasing and killing the prey. THEN she hauls the carcass back for the rest of the lions to eat. After all, FAT tastes GOOD, right? We love our butter, ice cream, greasy burgers, and so on. Meat without fat tastes bland, even offensively bland, so we 'fatten up' cattle and pigs before slaughter because the meat will TASTE BETTER. And why does the FAT taste better? Because NATURE MAKES IT THAT WAY! It is NATURAL for you to prefer FAT in your diet. And those who lower the fat end up COMPENSATING with CARBOHYDRATES, which are WORSE for you for SO many reasons. And YES, I'm going to enumerate them.

Fats metabolize SLOWLY in the body. When you eat fats, the calories from them last a LONG time. Hence, they do not cause you to PRODUCE fat, but instead, BURN IT OFF! Fats are long-term storage of calories, which give you ENDURANCE. Marathon runners gorge carbs before a marathon, expecting to burn off the fat they produce. They don't gorge on FATS, mind you, which wouldn't turn to fat. They gorge on CARBS, which DEFINITELY turn to fat. Your body's blood sugar rise from carbs catalyzes the fat-production process. Some people get 'wired' on carbs but most of us get FAT on them. And the more you diet, the more likely it is that the body will say "I have been starving, put on weight because it's gonna happen again!" and pack on the pounds when you eat that 'low fat' lunch you bought from the frozen food section, and you'll be HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY after because it metabolized SO QUICKLY! And so the direct carb-to-body-fat process (which is ALSO VERY NATURAL) becomes COUNTER PRODUCTIVE to anyone trying to lose weight.

The famous Atkins Diet recommends LOW CARBOHYDRATES for this VERY reason. But you have to get your calories from SOMETHING, right? And high protein low fat low carb diets can cause a condition known as Rabbit Starvation, so-named because eating large amounts of rabbit meat without carbs or fats can cause it. The body needs calories to survive, so unless you're on a physician-managed weight loss program, eating 'low fat low carb' diets can actually KILL you.

This is why the HIGH FAT LOW CARB diet is ideal for actual weight loss for a large number of people. When eating carbohydrates makes you HUNGRIER, and eating fats do NOT, then consumption of fats in lieu of carbohydrates can result in weight loss. It also (in my case) GREATLY improves my ENDURANCE. So even though I have the general shape of a man like George Foreman, and an overall build like a gorilla, and I am in reasonable physical shape, I would be called OBESE by GUMMINT standards, and would NO DOUBT be SUBJECTED to their FASCIST DIETS to FORCE me to become 'skinny', like the proverbial 95lb weakling. And NO WAY do I want THAT. Not only NO, but HELL NO!

Butter is Better

For a long time the CHOLESTEROL NAZIS wanted EVERYONE to EAT MARGARINE because of it's "poly-unsaturates" and all of the CHOLESTEROL allegedly in butter. They actually thought that EATING BUTTER made your cholesterol levels go UP! Well, NOW we know that it was complete PSEUDO-SCIENCE, and margarine companies have, for the most part, gone "elbows and assholes heels" (aka running like scared children) away from the entire notion.

Well, at least SOMEONE out there was paying attention! And fish oil (fats, by the way) DOES help in re-balancing the proper cholesterol ratio for a LOT of people. On a related note, the brain is MOSTLY cholesterol and the human body requires cholesterol for proper nerve and memory function, along with calcium and vitamin B3 and other stuff. Yet, I have to wonder if nicotine (pretending to be vitamin B3) and low-cholesterol diets are CAUSAL factors in Altzheimer patients. No proof, just an opinion...

Yet all of the noise about Trans Fats makes you wonder if you can trust ANYONE at ALL when they talk about health concerns. On one hand, you know that margarine's "poly-unsaturated" fats are REALLY just another name for the evil TRANS FAT, and it wasn't that long ago that all of the claims were that it is healthier than butter. Well, not ALL of the claims. Just the LOUDEST claims. On the other hand, CLAIMS ARE STILL BEING MADE about FRIED foods, regardless of the fact that they might have been fried in LARD or BUTTER or some other substance without any trans fats in it. Sure, the frying process DOES cause some of the fats to re-form different chemical bonds, but that's just the way things are, ok? It's not like we're spreading MARGARINE on our food any more. But if you are, it's your choice. I prefer butter, thanks, and it makes a nice snack in 1/8" slices.

Today's Science, Tomorrow's Pseudo-Science

I point directly at the BUTTER vs MARGARINE issue to make a very valid point: yesterday's "science" is often today's PSEUDO-SCIENCE, and health and nutrition are certainly NOT immune! After all, a decade or so ago a physician PROVED that ulcers are caused by BACTERIA, and NOT 'everything else' that was CLAIMED (stress or anger or heredity or whatever). In fact, he infected himself INTENTIONALLY, scoped himself to prove the ulcers were there, and then CURED himself with ANTIBIOTICS! Only THEN would the general medical community accept his claims, for their minds had been POISONED with the PSEUDO-SCIENCE! Only they thought it was SCIENCE. Poor fools, they accept too readily the thing that they want to believe, even in the face of the truth. As for me, I say "good science!" to the man who experimented on himself. Well done, you!

The whole point, of course, is that today's science on nutrition and health is just as likely to be labeled PSEUDO-SCIENCE as not, and in the fact of its OBVIOUS unreliability, why are GUMMINTS wanting to make policies to CONTROL OUR LIVES (either by making 'wrong foods' illegal, or taxing the CRAP out of them), even if it is AGAINST OUR WILL ? Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again: "It's the CONTROL, stupid." It's always about CONTROL, it always WILL be about control, and it's those who FEAR that they might LOSE their POWER or INFLUENCE that SUBJECT US TO THE CONTROL.

Fear is part of a basic survival instinct and comes from a part of the brain that is the most primitive, the brain stem. Anyone who has experienced that 'feeling in the back of the neck' knows EXACTLY what I mean. It is the most primitive part of the brain's structure, and is responsible for the 'flight or fight' fear reflex response (or in some cases, the 'deer in the headlight' response because MANY predators sense motion). I might (accurately?) suggest that those in positions of power who seek to CONTROL us are, in fact, thinking like REPTILES. That's pretty cold-blooded of them, wouldn't you think?

So basing RESTRICTIVE PUBLIC POLICY on possible PSEUDO-SCIENCE, ESPECIALLY when it CURBS OUR INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES, is JUST PLAIN WRONG! Can I emphasize this any more than I already have? I wish I could! This is important!
